For best results with your Uromastyx is to follow these directions for 1-3 months.

During the 1-3 months read everything on Uromastyx you can find. Then at that point

follow your gut.

My instructions are meant to establish the lizard in your environment.

Here are my quick establishment suggestions.

1) Cover all glass for 1-3 months. I use towels.

2) 120+ basking and 80-90 degree cool side. UVB light in addition to basking. I use florescent UVB lights.

3) 4 foot by 2 foot enclosure

4) At least 3 hides per cage. One on basking side one in middle on cool side. More if more than one lizard is going to be in the cage.

5) For lizards of this size please only use sand, tile, paper, rock, bare floor for bedding.

6) Never use Calcium sand or Crush Walnut Shells for bedding it could kill your lizard.

7) Don't use hulled mullet or birdseed as bedding for the first few months as it can dehydrate your lizard.

8) I am currently keeping them on washed play sand with a 12X12 tile that i place there food on.

9) No water in the cage.

10) No baths.

11) Do not feed insects.

12) Feed a good mix of greens. Spring Mix, Collard Greens, Mustard greens. Turnip Greens, Kale, Chickaree, Endive, Dandelion Greens, Etc. Only use Kale sparingly.

13) Also offer a bowel for ground up seeds and beans. 15 bean soup mix remove the large kidney beans and grind in a lizard dedicated coffee grinder. No Sunflower seed and no corn seed.

14) Clean cage and feed in the morning or at night. Try to not been seen by an awake Uromastyx for the first month or so.

15) Weigh your Uromastyx once per month. Weight loss is one of the first signs that you have an issue with your Uromastyx.

16) Don't treat for parasites for the first 6 months you have your Uromastyx.

17) Don't treat for parasites unless your Uromastyx is losing weight.

18) Do not handle your Uromastyx except to weigh it once per month for the first month or so.

19) If you want to handle you lizard please give it a month to settle in then begin by getting it to eat out of your hand. Then handle for short periods and then extend the handling period.

20) Never keep different species of Uromastyx in the same cage. IE donít keep Ornate's with Mails. Donít keep Saharans with Rainbows. Donít Keep Philbyi with Banded, Etc.

21) Never use under the tank heaters. Uromastyx understand heat from above. They may not move off a under tank heater soon enough and get burned.

22) Please let me know if you have any questions.

23) Read everything you can find on Uromastyx. Start here

UroWiki /A user-edited guide to all things Uromastyx.

Uroranch Uromastyx care sheet.

Policies and Guarantee.

These instructions are to acclimate your new baby to your cage and after ninety days of you reading everything under the sun then you follow your gut and use common sense.

Uromastyx # GGMO2  - Sold - Thank you Shawn Gray.

Approximately 5 year old / Blue phase Female Ornate Uromastyx.

She actually looks way more blue than these pictures.

She was sold to me as Male but I am 80-99 percent sure its a female but cant guarantee sex.

My blue/green male took a couple grabs at her neck and circled her on her back and left white markings on her back but he did not breed her yet.

She is really colorful for a female and should produce some really nice blue phase baby's.
