Alexandra's Male Hardwickii, Female Hardwickii,  Male Mali and Female Mali.

Alexandra's  Male Hardwickii December 5, 2004 Oscar...

barely 5 3/4 inches in length, weighing only 20 grams.

Alexandra's  Male Hardwickii Oscar and Female Hardwickii Junior.

Oscar and Junior together to show the difference in coloring.

Males tend to be more grey, which is why I suspect Oscar to be a male.

He has a lot of growing ahead of him to catch up with Junior :)

Alexandra's Male Hardwickii Oscar just hanging out.

He's about 11 inches and weighs 116 grams.

Alexandra's Female Mali Elmo.

All about Elmo... brought home May 9, 2004 together with Precious.

We were told they were 1 year old. May 2005 Update...

he is a she... the store had her and Precious backwards. :)

Alexandra's Female Mali Elmo. Weighing in at 66 grams.

Alexandra's Female Mali Elmo.

She is now 8 5/8 inches long and weighs 80 grams.

That's a big difference between her and Precious, considering they

were practically the same size and weight last year May.

Alexandra's Female Hardwickii Junior.

8 inches @ 42grams.

Alexandra's Female Hardwickii Junior.

Junior perched on one of her favorite logs to see

what's going on around her. She's 114 grams

Male Mali named Kiros
Age - About 7 years
Length about 8-10 inches
Favorite pastime chasing the cats
He has been one of the most docile and lovable lizards to ever grace our lives.

I love animal psychology, in their world if they cannot see us then we do not exist.

Kind of like the cat trying to be sneaky so it can pounce on the cricket in the grass.

When the cat is so close to a blade of grass that it can no longer see the cricket,

then surely the cricket cannot see the cat.

Two more, this time babies, these beautiful Malis are just awesome and CBBs.

                                         Color pictures of Kiros.

                                Uromastyx in Daytona 2006.

Yes, that special one came home with me, a little Ornate beauty.

Great temperament and does love those hibiscus flowers.

For whatever reason, my new little Uro loves to sleep upright against the corner

of its cage. I am guessing it sleeps this way right after eating as every time I pick it

up from this position its belly is really full. It looks uncomfortable with its tail all pushed

up into the spine, but it does not seem to be a bother for it.

I told this one she would be wearing her food if she gave me any attitude,

so to get back at me she went ahead and made a new hat.

I use Hova incubator, but I don't use it's auto-heating system
I use heat tape to continue heating to maintain Temp to about 33~35*C
About humidity , out side the eggs container the water is filled so it's humidity is very high.
But in the container the humidity is very low , the weight of substrate : water about 5:1
almost dry, I also put the mix in the button and a little dry substrate on it
But in the late phase, especially when babies is coming out, I will add humidity or put some well moistened paper towel with the eggs.

My two Uros. Gaza is the older and larger. He has always been my little boy, but as time has gone on we thing he is a female

and may not be a Mali that he was sold as. He may be an Egyptian. Sahara has a stocky head and is darker leading us to think

that my baby girl is possibly male and a Mali for sure. She is stocker than Gaza ever was.

Gaza on the porch sunning himself with his leash.           Hum...now that I am warm I will wander

She is on ebay.com and you can get T-shirts of your own

During that picture there was a male and female in that picture, and Kenu, (the larger one) was about 8-10 inches at the time and and female (smaller one) was about 6-7 inches.  They were both very young, I don't know the exact age I think that keyaria was about 6 months old at the time and Kenu was almost a year.

The one on the left, Spiky, is a female mali-uromastyx and she is a C.B. 3 year old and I have had her since she was a hatchling. She is very shy. Sonny, is the Yellow Nigerian. He is wild caught so I do not know his age, but he is super outgoing. Figure that. :-)

I have had people tell me I should not have them together, but they have been that way for a year now with no ill effects. I understand their concern about possible fights and all and if I ever see anything that resembles a fight, I will split them up, but for now, all is well..

“Yeehaw! My fourth and final clutch of the season is done hatching. I have seven more beautiful hatchlings from my Ornate pair- TankaTo and Mipaya. Mipaya is a rather plain female with hints of blue, and TankaTo is one of my favorite males. I love his deep turquoise color mixed with a dusting of rust across his back. He has matured and colored up so much since this picture was taken last year, but I just didn't have a chance to get a better one this year. Needless to say, I am a little busy with babies! In the midst of these guys hatching, I managed to acquire a beautiful pair of philbyi from Lindsay, and a gorgeous Macfadyeni male to go with my two females. I'm hoping next year proves as successful as this one!”
